Egle Vasiliauskaite started playing cello at the age of seven, at the music school of her hometown, Ukmergė, in Lithuania. Whilst studying in the music school she became a Laureate of the Junior Etude Performance Competition and a Laureate of the Junior Chamber Music Competition in Vilnius, Lithuania. As a young cellist she participated in a numerous masterclasses, namely Balys Dvarionas International Seminar for Young Artists.
In 2006 Egle had the honour of being appointed as Principal Cellist of The Lithuanian Youth Symphony Orchestra.
In 2008 she was invited to continue her cello studies at the Lithuanian National School of Arts in Vilnius, Lithuania, under the guidance and recommendation of prof. Ramutė Kalnėnaitė. In 2009 whilst playing in a masterclass she was noticed and invited to study in the Pilsen Conservatory in the Czech Republic under prof. Sergey Kalyanov.
In 2012 Egle moved to the United Kingdom to study at the Leeds College of Music, under Juliet Welchman and Alfia Nakipbekova. While at the Leeds College of Music, she formed a successful piano trio under the name of The BEL trio, with which she has been awarded The String and Chamber Ensemble Prize of The arts@trinity Competition as well as Steinway Hall Performance Competition Prize. The BEL trio attended numerous masterclass and performed all over Yorkshire, namely Leeds, Wakefield, Ripon, Sheffield, as well as a performance in the Steinway Hall in London. Egle also was a participant of masterclasses with Natalie Shaw, Natalie Clein, Karol Marianovsky, The Vienna Trio, Fidelio trio and took part in the several music projects namely Electric Bowed Strings, Contemporary Cello Techniques and Baroque Dance.
In 2014 Egle won the Leeds College of Music Scholarship Competition – Principal Prize and the Concerto Competition Prize. In 2015 she performed Haydn Cello Concerto in C-major with the Leeds College of Music Chamber Orchestra.
In 2015 Egle started a Master’s Degree at the University of Leeds. She also formed The Felix trio together with flute player Liuyi Kang and pianist Alejandro Wu Tan.

Egle is located in Leeds and as such is able to provide tutoring as well as performances (as well as along with BEL Trio) throughout the Yorkshire region.
Formed in September 2012 BEL Trio consists of three highly committed musicians with a passion for the piano trio repertoire. Within their short time together they have enjoyed performing in various events and were honoured to have been invited to perform during the annual Leeds International Concert Season. They have performed in many different venues throughout the UK, including the prestigious Wakefield Cathedral, and as prize-winners of the Arts@Trinity String Prize competition in 2014, they performed as part of a Cathedral showcase tour, playing at a number of various locations throughout West Yorkshire, including Ripon and Sheffield Cathedral, to name but a few.
The trio were thrilled to have been selected following competitive audition to perform at Steinway Hall in London last year, where they showcased the music of Beethoven and Debussy, and further demonstrating their versatility they recently tackled the works of Tchaikovsky in a modern collaboration with a beat boxer!
BEL Trio are mentored by one of the UKs leading cellists Alfia Nakipbekova and Jakob Fichert, they have also performed in masterclasses with violinist Nathalie Shaw, the Fidelio Trio and the Vienna Piano Trio.
